Japanese ambassador speaks at karate tournament

The Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan, Hiroshi Oe said on Monday that Japan and Pakistan enjoy very cordial bilateral relations and that their bond of friendship is strengthening with the passage of time. Ambassador Oe said this while addressing the concluding ceremony of the All Pakistan Kyokushinkai Karate tournament, which was being held at the Pakistan Sports Complex.
More than a hundred kyokushinkai karate player from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan, Fata, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan took part in this national competition. Ambassador Oe was the chief guest at the event while the Pakistan Kyokushinkai Federation (PKF)’s Secretary General, Shihan Rehmat Gul Afridi was the supreme judge of the tournament.The players performed their best in kyokushinkai karate, which is a Japanese martial art that is very popular world over. Ambassador Oe expressed his delight at kyokushinkai being practiced in Pakistan and appreciated PKF for promoting this game in the country.
President of Pakistan Kyokushinkai Federation and Honorary Consul General for Japan at Peshawar, Nawabzada Fazal Karim Afridi commented that Pakistan was a peace loving country and that PKF was working actively to promote kyokushinkai karate in the country. Afridi informed that his organization has been organizing such sports events regularly for the last 30 years in Pakistan. When the tournament ended, Ambassador Oe awarded medals, shields, and trophies to the winners.
