Inti, Mohsin in trouble over fast track camp

The PCB has sought an explanation from the head of national cricket academy development program, Intikhab Alam and chief selector, Mohsin Khan over the sudden inclusion of eight players in the fast-track coaching camp in Lahore.
Reports coming from the academy said that an official of the PCB had inquired from Alam how these players were inducted into the camp without the clearance of the board. The eight players from Hyderabad and Abbotabad regions were included in the camp for which originally 20 players were announced by the board.
The second phase of the camp, being organised by the PCB, is for spinners, all-rounders and middle order batsmen. Interestingly all the eight players were included in the camp without the PCB making any announcements about their inclusion and on what grounds they were called up. Reports said when he was told to explain the position, Alam said he would give a detailed explanation soon.
“Intikhab stated that the players were included after he consulted Mohsin and they felt the players could be called up late,” the source said.
The inclusion of these players caused a stir here as many of them have nothing to show for on the domestic circuit.
The controversial inclusions are: Mohammad Aslam, Imran Chandio, Mir Ali Haider, Aqeel Anjum and Zahid Mehmood from Hyderabad and Adnan Raees, Khalid Usman and Wajid Ali from Abbotabad region.
“The inclusion of Imran Chandio is strange as he has not played any first class cricket while Ali Talpur played just one first class match last season in which he didn’t do anything notable. Same is the case with Mohammad Aslam,” another source said. The case is likely to be brought to the notice of the chairman of the board.
