IED kills soldier in South Waziristan

A soldier was killed while other received critical injuries in a blast caused by an improvised explosive devise (IED) explosion at Sholaam area of South Waziristan Agency on Tuesday.
Officials said the IED planted by militants exploded when a team of security forces was passing through the locality. The injured soldier was shifted to the Combined Military Hospital Dera Ismail Khan. Soon after the explosion, the security forces launched a search operation in the area.
On the other hand, a member of the security forces was injured when the US-led allied troops camping across the border in Afghanistan fired mortar shells into the border area of Angora Adda. An official at Wana, the agency headquarter of South Waziristan, said around 25 mortar shells landed in the area in the morning.
The security forces also responded
in a similar fashion; however, there is no detail of casualties in the
retaliatory action.
