Ceremony marks 60 years of Pak-China ties

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Barrister Masood Kausar has said that the last sixty years’ history of Pak-China diplomatic relationships clearly shows the increasing trend of people-to-people relationships between the two nations.
He said this while speaking at a ceremony arranged at the Governor’s House Nathiagali to mark celebrations of 60th anniversary of Pak-China Diplomatic relation. The programme was held under the aegis of Pak-China Friendship Association. The governor hoped that the cordial ties would mature with the passage of time. A cake was also formally cut on the occasion.
Chinese Ambassador in Pakistan Liu Jian, senior officials of Chinese Embassy and certain Chinese investors and businessmen in Pakistan were also supposed to attend the ceremony but they could not reach the venue because of inclement weather and land sliding on Nathiagali – Murree Road.
The patron of the Pak-China Friendship Association Yousaf Ayub highlighted the role and services of their organization in bringing the people of both the friendly countries closer to each other. Advocate Tasleem Khan, renowned industrialist and the former senator Muhammad Shah Afridi also spoke on the occasion.
Afridi told the audience that the Chinese government was actively working on developing Kashghar, the sister city of Abbottabad as an industrial hub with US $ 32 billions. This new development, he added, would help in further promoting economic relationships at people level between both the countries.
