Bilawal to contest poll from Lyari, says Zardari

President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday announced that his son, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will contest the forthcoming general elections from Lyari. He disclosed this at a meeting on Lyari’s issues held at Bilawal House. Besides the representatives of the Kachi Rabita Council and the People’s Amn Committee, Interior Minister Rehman Malik and Sindh Chief Secretary Raja Muhammad Abbas were also present. Later, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon told reporters that the president said Lyari was not only PPP’s stronghold but also the birthplace of Bilawal, therefore he will be the next MNA of the party from the area. He quoted the president as saying that Bilawal was coming to Pakistan next month and he will the meet people of Lyari upon return.
