At least four people were killed in various incidents across the city on Monday.
Three unidentified armed men shot dead a woman after storming into her house in Baghbanpura police precincts late on Monday. The deceased was identified as Fareeda Kausar, resident of Atta Bukhsh Road near Sukh Naher stop. Police said the deceased was at her home when the three men forced into the house and opened indiscriminate fire on her. She was killed on the spot. Separately, a man was shot dead by robbers in Green Town police precincts on Monday. The deceased was identified as 40-year-old Haider Sarfaraz, resident of Faisal Town.
Per details, the deceased worked at a local factory as manager and was on way home on his car on Monday night when two motorcyclists intercepted him near Hamdard Chowk. Upon resistance, the robbers opened fire on Haider, injuring him seriously. Moreover, a 25-year-old man committed suicide after swallowing poisonous pills in Shahdara police precincts.
The deceased was identified as Muhammad Faisal, resident of Shaukat Colony, Baigum Kot. Police said the deceased quarreled with his family over some domestic issue, which disheartened him and he swallowed poisonous pills.
He was rushed to a hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
Also on Monday, a speeding vehicle killed a seven-year-old boy in Sherankot police precincts on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Haider Ali, resident of Malik Park. Police said the deceased was going to see his relatives along with his father Muhammad Arif. They were crossing Bund Road when a speeding car knocked Haider down.
His father rushed him to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
