After accepting resignations of Prof Dr Saleem Abid Tabasum as Admission Committee Convener and Professor Dr Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhary as Entry Test Chief Coordinator 2011, the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) vice chancellor has constituted a new admission committee on Monday after the leakage of entry test.
Prof Dr Muhammad Ali Maud would now serve as the convener of the newly constituted admission committee along with other members namely Dr Asim Lone, Ahmad Saeed, Muhmmad Asif, Farooq Ahmad and Muhammad Awais.
With the formation of the new admissions committee, the inquiry committee formed to probe the leakage of UET’s entry test has also started investigating the matter on Monday. Thousands of students impacted by the leakage and cancellation of the entry test would reappear in the test on September 11. Head of the inquiry committee and Electrical Department Dean Dr Zubair told Pakistan Today that the inquiry would be completed within the next few days, whereas UET Public Relations Officer Tanvir Qasim said that issue was sensitive and the inquiry might take time. Qasim said all those involved in the leakage would be uncovered. He said the start of inquiry and the announcement of a new date for the test were steps to resolve the issue. Islami Jamiat Talba (IJT) said it was a failure on the part of UET administration.
