Punjab will be the hot favourites to lift the Men’s National Junior Basketball Championship title when they face FATA in the final today. In the semi-finals Punjab beat Islamabad Whites 59-39 while FATA beat Khyber Pakhtunkhawa 49-33 here at Hamidi Hall of the Pakistan Sports Complex on Sunday.
Punjab, who had not been tested by any opposition in the tournament so far, were never in trouble against Islamabad Whites as well. They controlled the proceedings from the start to finish. Fahim Ahmed (14), Kashif Gill (10) and Ehsan Salman (7) were the impressive scorers for Punjab. Islamabad Whites’ Jarri Abbas scored 12 points. FATA were on top of their game in the second semi-final against KP and defeated by 49-33.
