Bring in army now

Karachi is in the grip of violence, each passing day brings death and destruction of innocent people. The Sindh government has miserably failed to protect the life and property of citizens. All efforts of law enforcement agencies have failed to bring an end to this target killing.

The writ of the government is being openly challenged and killers are free to disrupt the peace of the city without any fear of accountability. This situation has become very serious as it has disturbed the normal life of the people of Karachi, they are living under the clouds of uncertainty and fear.

All political parties have failed to come up to the expectations of the people. Therefore, now it requires a clear cut decision on the part of government to handle this issue. Critical scrutiny of the issue reveals that it is the influx of weapons of prohibited bores including mortars, rocket launchers etc that are held by various groups and are being used indiscriminately without any fear of police and Rangers.

Short term measures can never substitute a lasting solution. This is a very serious issue as it has disturbed the normal life of the people. Businessmen are suffering huge losses without any compensation, industries are not functioning properly, and frequent shut downs are causing unemployment, especially of daily wagers.

To ensure permanent peace in Karachi, the city has to be handed over to the army to carry out house to house search to recover all type of weapons by imposing curfew. It is now a question of establishing writ of the government and that must be done at all costs. We are already late and if this issue is not resolved quickly, it is going to be harmful for the country.
