‘2011-2012 saw mega welfare and uplift projects in Sindh’

Mega welfare and development projects were carried out in the province during the fiscal year 2011-2012, Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah said on Sunday. “In addition to the reconstruction and rehabilitation following the heavy floods last year, education, health and agriculture sectors would be given priority to resolve the socio-economic issues of the common man,” he said while addressing a public gathering in the town of Matli.
According to an official handout issued by the Chief Minister’s House, the gathering was organised by the PPP Matli Chapter on the eve of 18th death anniversary of Shaheed Ismail Odhejo, a senior PPP leader who had lost his life in a road accident.
Lauding the services rendered by Odhejo for the people of Sindh, the chief minister said that the late PPP leader was not only a brave and sincere worker of the party, but a talented as well as he excelled in accounting and administration in addition to his medical profession.
He said that Odhejo lost his life during the long march against then government for the restoration of real democracy.
