Woman dies of negligence at General Hospital

A woman, brought to General Hospital on Saturday died after delivery allegedly because of doctors’ negligence.
The deceased, identified as Madeeha, was a resident of Amar-Sadhu. Her family alleged that Madeeha was brought to General Hospital upon feeling severe labour pains around noon but the doctors denied checking the patient saying it was a routine pain. The family took the girl back to their house where she gave birth to child in the evening. The newborn was facing breathing problem over which they rushed him to Children’s Hospital
where he died.
At midnight Madeeha fainted because of blood pressure disturbance and was rushed to the General Hospital for medical aid. The family claimed that despite several requests, the doctors did not pay attention to the patient and she expired. In face of doctors’ negligence, the family staged a protest demonstration on Ferozpur Road by placing the body on the road, causing a traffic jam for several hours. Police reached the spot and dispersed the protesters by assuring them justice.
AMS Duty Officer Dr Munazza, on the issue, said when the family members brought Madeeha to hospital, she had already expired.
