ISLAMABAD – The US embassy said on Saturday that the United States supported the ‘Transparent Abbottabad Commission’ and the media report that it opposed publicising the findings of commission was false.
“An article published in a Pakistani newspaper cited unnamed sources to allege that the United States Government opposes publicising the findings of the Abbottabad Commission. This story is false,” said a US embassy statement issued here.
“The United States respects the independence of the Abbottabad Commission and believes that justice is always served by transparency,” it said.
