At least two people were killed and three feet portion of railway track was blown up in a bomb blast that took place in Sariab area in Quetta on Saturday night.
According to police, unknown miscreants had planted explosive devices with railway track near Sariab Road of Quetta which went off with big bang on late Saturday night.
DIG Operation Quetta Hamid Shakeel told media persons that four passersby were injured as a result of the explosion who were shifted to hospital for medical treatment.
Two among the injured with serious wounds died in hospital due to non availability of medical treatment after which their relatives triggered a rampage over unsatisfactory medical facilities and negligence towards duty.
The dead were identified Sher Zaman and Abdul Mutlib. The blast also blew three feet portion of the railway track and as a result the land communication of Quetta was cut off from rest of the country. Police have launched search operation to hunt the suspects down.
The enraged relatives of blast victims smashed furniture and windowpanes of the hospital and did not allow the Medico Legal Officer (MLO) to carry out autopsy. They complained that the duty staff paid negligence towards their duties which resulted in deaths of two victims.
Police and personnel of other law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area after the blast and launched search operation but no arrest has been made.
