Resonance of words

Language is the symbol of norms and values that a society upholds – it links society to the outer world creating its certain image.

In case of politics, rhetoric is indeed the part of game. But politicians need to be mindful of the words which resonate in loud manner in different forms. It’s a fact that Dr Mirza’s words have generated qualms in the already complex political atmosphere. But, the apology tendered by various PPP Leaders should also be resonated with equal intensity. Sadly, it is not so.

Furthermore, it’s a part of political training of the masses that they realise that no matter whatever political rhetoric prevails, they would not be provoked to the point where they have to resort to violence.

Thus, in this regard careful use of power (whether it is of words, politics or weapon) should be resorted to. But it all needs training that can come through fair and sustained political process, and media.
