Dairy farmers have decided to increase the fresh milk price by Rs 2 per litre. The new price of fresh milk would be applicable before Ramzan, sources said. The fresh milk sellers have been challenging the writ of city government again and again despite clear directives in this context. After the decision to increase the milk price by Rs2 per litre the new price of fresh milk in retail would be Rs 54 per litre. The city government has remained helpless so far in tackling the issue and the consumers pay whatever the dairy farmers demand. The consumers have to pay the fixed price of the sellers of the milk which is often adulterated.
