All Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) of Punjab will announce the Matriculation Result on August 2, which was postponed earlier. Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif took notice of delay in announcement of the results and ordered an inquiry against authorities concerned of BISE, Lahore. He directed that all eight BISEs of the province should declare results collectively.
During a meeting with Punjab Education Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, Higher Education Secretary Haseeb Athar and the BISE chairman on Friday, the CM said that declaration of examination results on a fixed date was vital. He issued instructions for calling explanation of the BISE chairman and directed that the date for announcement of complete and error-free results should be immediately fixed and IT experts be inducted in the process. Separately, the All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association (APPSMA) criticised the Punjab government for its failure to announce results and said that IT consultant Dr Majid Naeem played with the future of students.
APPSMA warned the Punjab government saying that they would march along with thousands of students if the result was not announced. On the other hand, the Punjab Education Boards Employees Federation (PEBEF) claimed that preparation of the result is substandard and non-transparent. The board spokesman, talking to Pakistan Today, apologised with parents and students saying that the given date was to finalise internal arrangements.
