CID nabs 11 ‘criminals’

The Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Friday claimed to have arrested 11 criminals from different areas of the city while recovering weapons and vehicles from their possession.
Addressing a press conference on Friday, CID Superintendent of Police (SP) Chaudhry Aslam Khan said that 11 suspects identified as Faheem Hussain alia Chipta, Faisal Baig, Mubashir Ahmed, Nasir Hussain alias Munawar, Faheem, Ahmed, Muhammad Faheem, Ilyas Jut, Shahnawaz Channa, Farhan Ali and Jahangir involved in heinous crimes in the city.
The police have recovered one Kalashnikov, 8 TT pistols, 2 repeaters, 2 rifles, one 9mm pistol, three vehicles, jewellery, cell phones and digital cameras besides Rs 1 million in cash and some drugs, he added.
Farhan Ali and Jahangir were wanted in murder case, where a businessman named Abdul Hussain was killed in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Chipta had killed a person while committing street crimes while other suspects were also said to be involved in different crimes in the city and murdering several citizens.
On the occasion, AIG Saud Mirza also announced cash prizes for the CID personnel.
