Ushna crashes out of Jordan event

Pakistan’s ladies champion Ushna Suhail lost in the singles quarter-final but reached the doubles semi-final of the Jordan International Tennis Tournament being in Amman. Ushna, Pakistan’s tennis national champion both in women and under-18, is currently playing in the Junior ITF tournament in Jordan.
Though she lost her singles match but she managed to reach the last four of the tournament in the doubles. In singles, Ushna went down to Simran Kaur Sethi of India, 6-0, 6-3. Ushna did not play well in the first set. She tried to fight back in the second set making it 3-3 each. After long baseline rallies and some points played at the net by both sides, Ushna was overpowered by her opponent who won the set 6-4.
In doubles, Ushna’s partner is a Chinese, Zixian Zhang and this Pak China pair played against an Indian pair of Mahitha Dadi Reddy and Nayanika Devireddy in the quarterfinals. They defeated the Indian pair with a scoreline of 3-6, 6-4 and 8-6. In the first set, the Pak-Chinese pair were 3-1 down, but they leveled it to 3-3.
They could not hold their serve and lost the set by 6-3. The won the match with a score line of 3-6,6-4 and 10-8. Ushna and Zixian will play the semifinals against an Egyptian pair.
