The Met Office predicted on Thursday that the fourth spell of monsoon will start today (Friday), which may lead to scattered rain with thundershowers for the next three to four days.
According to the Met Office, isolated rain and dust-thundershowers are expected in northeast Punjab, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Lahore and Gujranwala, Hazara and Kohat divisions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) today (Friday), whereas, hot and humid weather is expected in rest of the country. Extremely humid weather was witnessed in the provincial metropolis on Thursday, as load shedding added to miseries of citizens. The relative humidity level touched 85 percent in the morning but fell to 65 percent in the evening.
More monsoon rains are likely to hit upper parts of the country and lower Sindh from Saturday. Scattered rain and thundershowers, with isolated heavy falls, are expected in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and AJK from Saturday to Monday. Rain and dust-thundershowers with isolated heavy falls are also expected at scattered places in Sindh on Sunday or Monday. The weather remained hot and humid in most parts of the country on Thursday but isolated rain with thundershowers hit Gujranwala, Kohat, AJK and adjoining hilly areas. The Met Office predicted partly cloudy weather with chances of rain in Lahore for today (Friday). The maximum temperature is expected to remain between 35 to 38 degrees Celsius today (Friday).
