The Lahore High Court (LHC) administration succumbed to lawyers’ pressure and withdrew a notification regarding cancellation of the one month summer vacations for judges of Punjab.
The LHC administration, through a notification, had barred judicial officers in Punjab from availing the summer vacations in August. However, the Lahore Bar Association strongly protested against the decision and threatened a boycott of court proceedings if courts were held during August.
A meeting between the registrar and office bearers of LBA was also scheduled for Thursday. However, prior to the meeting, registrar Sohail Nasir, made a phone call to LBA President Shahzad Hassan Sheikh and informed him that decision to cancel summer vacation had been withdrawn.
