As the deadline given by the Supreme Court to the government for the appointment of National Accountability Bureau (NAB)’s chairman and prosecutor general is set to expire today (Thursday), the government filed a plea on Wednesday asking the court to extend the deadline.
The application was filed by Additional Attorney General KK Agha, requesting the court to grant another month’s time for the appointment. The applicant also sought an early hearing of the pending review petition filed by the government against the apex court’s verdict declaring the appointment of Justice (r) Syed Deedar Hussain Shah as NAB chairman illegal.
