Pakistan has received import orders worth 10 million euros from a leading Spanish retail group which will promote Pakistani products through its 400 outlets. During the last three months, a leading Spanish retail group El Corte Ingles, which has an annual turnover of more than $25 billion, has placed import orders of various products worth millions of euros from Pakistan, sources said.
According to sources the new development came after a days’ long visit of a 22-member Spanish delegation which visited Pakistan in February to hold business meetings and visit different industries in the country. The Spanish firm has also made a buying store at ports in Karachi, from where it would import the required products and goods while organising promotional events for Pakistani products by providing dedicated sections in its outlets. The foreign firm has also placed special orders for various products to meet the high demands during the upcoming Christmas celebrations.
Through the recently sent letter to the Ministry of Commerce (MoC), Pakistani Commercial Attaché in Spain has said that the recent visit of the large trade delegation to Pakistan from the foreign country was very successful that Islamabad has started getting orders worth millions of euros. The commercial officer has also confirmed that almost orders worth 10million euros have so far been given to the Pakistani exporters of various products especially those from the textile sector.
According to sources in the MoC, the 22-member El Corte Ingles delegation, headed by Borja De la Cierva Director and Head of International Supply Chain of the group, had held almost 272 business to business meetings with heads of different sectors besides making 50 to 60 visits of various factories and industries in the country. During their recent visit to Pakistan, the foreign company’s heads had also called upon the Sindh Governor.
They also met the Ministry Of Commerce officials and Chief Executive of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan. The delegation members held interactions with businessmen in Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot and Karachi. In a meeting with the Managing Director of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), the MD had also agreed to the proposal of sale of tickets through travel agency of El Corte Ingles as well as for development of tourism packages for Pakistan.
According to sources, the Spanish retail group has more than 400 outlets operating under El Corte Ingles and other brands. The group organises promotional events of products of specific countries. During such events conspicuous portions of different stores of the company display products of the relevant country.
I am engaged in textile sector basically we r knitted garements exporter. My Q is that if pakistan will get around10 million euro order in upcoming 4 months how we can get the benefits of this great deal.

Most of these orders will be for Woven / Denim / Bed Linen etc. and there are exporters like Nishat and other who are already doing the same for Europe.
So these orders will benefit the increase in export any way.
My question is while having the short fall in electric supplies and Gas how we can perform these order after meeting the prices quotations???
Is there any one from the Government or policy making can answer .
