Former leg spin legend Abdul Qadir believes that the skill of the leg spin has become a dying art in the country and there is not a single youngster who has the ability to make the cut.
Talking to journalists here on the sideline of the Fast Track Camp at the National Cricket Academy Qadir said, “We were the inventors of the leg spin art and have mastered it over the years but now there is no one to carry it on.”
“Pakistan had great leg spinners but after Danish Kaneria, it seems no one is trying to learn the art of leg spin. There are only three or four leg spinners in the camp but they are also not of the quality that Pakistan used to have in the past,” he said.
“As far as my expertise is concern I am ready to visit all the country to hunt the talent and all I need is backing,” he stated.
“What I see in last two days these handful spinners need a serious concentration for the bowling leg spin as they required mental work. They need to understand the variation in slow bowling which plays a vital part,” he said.
