IHC seeks report on Tahrir activists’ detention

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday directed the standing counsel to present a detailed report in the court regarding the detention of two activities of banned outfit Hizb ut-Tahrir. The single IHC bench comprising Justice Muhammad Anwar Kasi directed the standing counsel for the state to coordinate with department concerned on alleged illegal confinement of two activists. The court directed the public prosecutor to submit a report on the subject during the next hearing to be held on July 25. The court is hearing two identical petitions seeking the release of Imran Yousafzai and another activist Hayyan Dawar Khan.
Police officials Falak Sher and Abdul Sattar informed the court about two separate FIRs in registered in Margalla and Koral police stations against mysterious disappearance of the two abovementioned activists.
