Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Culture Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said despite hurdles and severe opposition of certain elements, the establishment of the first ever FM radio channel at the provincial level is a great achievement of the provincial government. He said the channel is effectively conveying the voice of terrorism hit Pakhtuns to the whole world and a message of peace.
He said that during the current financial year the FM radio channels at Lower Dir, Mansehra and Bannu would soon be functional while the one has already started its transmission in Mardan. He further said that the firm that would conduct the feasibility study of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa TV had been selected and hoped the KP TV would start its regular transmission by the end of this year.
He expressed these views while addressing as chief guest at the awards distribution ceremony of Pakhtunkhwa Radio FM 92.2 MHz at a local hotel Peshawar on Wednesday evening. Secretary Information and Culture Azmat Hanif Orakzai, Director Information Shuaibuddin and Station Director Pakhtunkhwa Zabita Khan Mohmand also spoke on the occasion.
