Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmed Raza Tahir on Wednesday appealed to parents to cooperate with the Lahore Police to restrain their children from one-wheeling on weekends at city roads.
He was talking to citizens from different walks of life, who called on him at his office. The CCPO ordered officers to take stern action against one-wheelers and without silencer motorcyclists and informed that special teams have been constituted for taking action against people, who were involved in such negative activities, whereas, traffic wardens, Mohafaz Force, Mobile Squad, Elite Force and SHOs would take concrete steps to restrain youngsters from such dangerous activities.
Tahir informed that during the last six months, in a special crackdown against one wheeling, the Lahore Police arrested 584 one-wheelers and registered 567 cases against them. The CCPO said that he would pay surprise visits to check security arrangements and stern action would be taken against the negligent. He also appealed to citizens to keep a vigilant eye on suspicious elements around them and immediately inform the Lahore Police about any dubious activity, as without cooperation of the people, heinous crimes, including terrorism, could not be eliminated.
