Aamir Atlas Khan is not the part of Pakistan team that will represent Pakistan in the forthcoming World Men’s Squash Team Championship 2011, which will be held from August 21 to 27 at Paderborn, Germany, despite ending the ban of six-month.
Pakistan team consist of Yasir Butt, Nasir Iqbal, Waqar Mehboob and Hamza Bukhari for the mega squash event of the year 2011. “The team was selected after conducting trials under the supervision of Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) for the World Men’s Squash Championship,” PSF official said on Wednesday. He said that Aamir was banned and he was not allowed to take part in trials. “Aamir is Pakistan number one player but the federation will not compromise on discipline. We are sending a new team for the prestigious squash event and we pick up all the lads after completing trials proceeding and merit was our priority,” said PSF Secretary Irfan Asgher. “The championship will be held in the end of August 2011. The selected boys are being coached in their home town Lahore and Peshawar. Yasir and Hamza are from Lahore while Waqar and Nasir are from Peshawar. Jansher Khan is coaching the both players in Peshawar. Danish Atlas Khan did not participate in the trials while Farhan Mehboob could not qualify for the team,” he replied a question. He added that a joint camp would be held in Islamabad before going to the international event. “Around 15 days before leaving for Paderborn, the camp will be established at Mushaf Squash Complex to give the final touches to our plan. However, squash is an individual game and players have to show their class in the mega event,” he concluded.
