Waiting for his turn

The role of a friendly opposition played by the PML(N) has left many Pakistanis bewildered. When there was a need to put pressure on the government due to its failed security policies, ineffective financial and economic policies, and corruption, the PML(N) was nowhere to be seen. Nawaz Sharif, it seems, is in a delusion that the next elections will see him elected as the PM of the country. He could not be more wrong. His party is not in a position to make such claims.

Only recently, its workers snatched away their MNA from police custody, bringing more shame to this friendly opposition. It has to pocket insult again and again for the careless behaviour of its MPAs and MNAs. Not coming up to the expectations of voters, slumbering for more than three years, the friendly opposition is earning notoriety. Instead of fleeing, the worthy parliamentarian should have opted the right way of facing the law gallantly. If he is innocent nobody can send him to jail. Independent judiciary is there to protect all.

If our elected MNAs only go for their personal gains to the extent that police is forced to catch them, then what good we can expect from them for their electorate. The party leadership should deal with these elements with an iron hand. Otherwise, they may face problems when they go to the people next time. Party discipline and manifesto must be taught to all members with the instructions to abide the law diligently.
