Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has said that a clear, corruption free and efficient judicial system is must for rule of law.
He said this while talking to a 7-Member delegation of the Cabinet Members of Peshawar District Bar headed by its President Raza Ullah and consisting other office bearers and members who called on his lordship today, 20-07-2011 in the Supreme Court Building, Islamabad.
Extolling the services rendered by the Peshawar Bar for their profession and for Rule of law in society, the CJP added that Peshawar Bar was an active, experienced, committed, professional and patriotic bar which played a vital role for the achievement of the cause of independence of judiciary, supremacy of constitution and rule of law in our country.
Their services and sacrifices would always be remembered and would be guiding the new generations to stand by the judiciary in time of need, he further said.
The delegation apprised the CJP about worse law and order situation at Peshawar and showed great concern over the security of lawyers.
They further informed him about their problems like shifting of different courts like narcotics, anti-corruption, banking etc in one premises in order to facilitate litigants as well as lawyers.
