Ten people, including a cop and activists of the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) and Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM), were shot dead on Tuesday in the continued violence spree in various parts of Karachi. Per reports, an activist of ASWJ was killed and two others injured when unidentified armed men attacked them in Petal Gali near Khajji Ground while they were on way back from a graveyard. They had attended the funeral of one their associates shot dead the previous day.
Rizvia police SHO identified the dead as Aqeel. He said the victim was associated with ASWJ. A police constable and guard of Bilawal House was shot dead in an ambush in Rabbani Muhalla, Frontier Colony. Peerabad police said 32-year-old Muzaffar was on way to work when he was killed. The JeM activist was killed near Lal Masjid. Gulbahar police SHO said Saleem, 32, son of Nasarullah and Gul Waris were sitting in a rickshaw when two motorcyclists sprayed them with bullets.
He said Saleem died on the spot while Gul Waris received bullet injuries.
Also, an employee of a banking court was killed by unidentified attackers in Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 18. Sharae Faisal police SHO named the deceased as Hussain Bux Solangi, 39.
A 45-year-old man was gunned down near Murtaza Chowk in Korangi’s Bilal Colony.
The Korangi Industrial Area police duty officer said the victim’s name was Ghulam Fareed and he ran a cigarette kiosk.
A torture-marked body of a 32-year-old man was recovered from Ath Chowk in Lyari. Kalakot police said the body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for postmortem where it was identified as Asim, resident of Agra Taj Colony, Lyari.
Sharafi Goth police said they had recovered the body of a 23-year-old man from area jurisdiction on Tuesday morning. They named him as Muhammad Iftikhar.
SHO of the Kharadar police said they were informed of a body dumped in Fariya Street in Kharadar. He said the victim was identified as Yaseen.
Separately, a body was recovered from Baldia Town No 04.
