Two foreigners and a couple arrested by Defence A Police from a dance party in GG Block of Defence Housing Authority (DHA) late on Saturday night were released on orders from none other than Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif himself. According to local police sources, Defence A Police had detained two Americans, a Pakistani couple, the host of the dance party Imran and his three servants namely Riaz, Khaleel and Ramzan in a late night raid on Saturday at a house in GG Block of DHA.
The arrested people were immediately moved to Defence Police Station. Sources claimed, however, that 14 people had been arrested in the raid, including 4 women, but charges were filed against only four of them. Eyewitnesses said police had also manhandled the foreigners and even brutally assaulted a US Consulate employee, breaking his ribs. However, police were later forced to release the foreigners and the couple when Shahbaz intervened with a phone call from Islamabad.
why the law is not same for all the people? only a normal person gets punishment. why?
Not many moons ago someone from Karachi said that these parties are held in every house in Punjab so there must be a Herculean task for the CM of Punjab. By the way what action has been taken by CM against Sohail Butt and party for the stupid action they took against the Sikh Community and the place of their worship?????
Why should the police have entered somebody's private house, unless and until they were creating disturbance for their neighbours. The issue is that we have to learn the right to privacy of our citizens. Did the police have a magistrates permission or summons to enter the residence?. The police should focus on stopping crimes on the streets and roads and right next to this police station, there is Charar Pind, which has become a centre for heroin trade, selling of marijuana and home made liquor. The police will not raid and shut down this place and few prostitution dens located in cantonment, including DHA, because they pay them protection money.
