Pregnant woman dies in road accident

A 32-year-old pregnant woman died after a collision between two rickshaws in the Nawankot Police Station precincts on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Sameena Bibi, a resident of Dobanpura Area located in Sabzazar. Police said that late on Monday night, deceased’s neighbour Nazeeran Bibi was taking her to a local hospital for medical aid on a rickshaw. As their rickshaw reached near Shah Fareed Darbar located on Main Sabzazar Road, another rickshaw coming from the opposite side collided into their rickshaw due to which both Sameena and Nazeeran Bibi were injured. Sabzazar and Nawankot Police, after being informed, reached the spot and had a scuffle with each other over jurisdiction, as both claimed that the incident had taken place in their police station’s precincts. An hour later with the jurisdiction determined Nawankot Police handed over the deceased’s body to her heirs after completing legal formalities.
10 preachers fall unconscious in mosque: Around 10 people fell unconscious after drinking poisonous milk in a mosque located in the Sattu Katla Police Station precincts on Tuesday. They were identified as Muhammad Anas, 22, Mateeullah, 25, Roshan Khan, 24, Muhammad Manzoor, 45, Ghulam Mohaiudin, 23, Usman, 45, Yar Muhammad, 60 and Roshan Zameer, 50. Rescue 1122 officials said that the preachers were staying at the Abdullah Bin Masood Mosque, located in L-Block Johar Town. They said that the preachers went to sleep after eating dinner and drinking milk but when some of their friends tried to wake them for Fajr prayer, they were unconscious, on which they immediately informed Rescue 1122 officials who after reaching the spot rushed them to Jinnah Hospital where their condition was stable. Police said the incident was a simple case of food poisoning.
