The PPP is likely to reverse the orders reviving the commissioner system as a result of reconciliation talks between the PPP and the MQM, a source told Pakistan Today on Monday. “The return of Isharatul Ebad is a result of the talks between Chaudhry Shujaat and MQM leaders.
President Zardari has assured the MQM that their demands will be met, mainly… the withdrawal of the orders reviving the commissioner system,” the source said, adding that two seats of the AJK Legislative Assembly were also likely to be given to the MQM. He said these demands would be met in phases. When asked if any timeframe for meeting the demands had been set, the source refused to divulge details of the timeframe but said: “Implementation will take place soon.” He added that the MQM would ultimately become part of the government again. “The fulfillment of these demands and the gradual return of the MQM, starting with Ishratul Ebad’s return to the office of the Sindh governor, would be completed in phases,” he said.
