The MQM has always been clever enough not to lose its control of the city, both in politics or otherwise. But how it reacted on the statement of Zulfiqar Mirza is a sample of how they really deal in the politicking field. After quitting from the coalition and relieving the charge of Sindh governorship, they are back once again. Their party chief Altaf Hussain has directed Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan to resume his government post as Governor Sindh.
Many non supporters of the MQM had appreciated them on parting their ways from the government. But they could not be more wrong. In fact, their style of politics (not the style with which they rule the urban politics, but the one with which they stay in the government) reminds me of Indian soap dramas where anything, literally anything, is possible.
