IED kills Mullah Nazir’s five men, seven dead in Kurram

Officials Tuesday morning claimed that the security forces shot dead at least seven militants and injured six others in a retaliatory action at Oramgi area of Central Kurram late on Monday night. And in South Waziristan, five militants belonging to Mullah Nazir group were killed in a blast caused by a roadside bomb. According to details, dozen of militants attacked a checkpost at Oramgi with sophisticated weapons, killing one security personnel and wounding four others, including a major. The injured were rushed to a hospital where their condition is stated to be out of danger.
In response, the security forces launched an operation and killed seven miscreants besides injuring their six accomplices. Some unconfirmed reports suggest that 11 militants were killed in the retaliatory action. On the other hand, at least five militants were killed when their vehicle hit an improvised explosive device (IED) near village Peerkhel in Shakai area of South Waziristan Agency. One of the dead is identified as Ayaz Khan son of Tehsil Khan, an important commander of Mullah Nazir group.
Four of the Taliban militants from Mullah Nazir group were killed on the spot while the fifth one expired on his way to hospital. No group or person has so far claimed the responsibility for latest attack on the militants loyal to Mullah Nazir. But the local tribesmen and officials believe that it was a result of the internal rifts developed amongst different factions.
