ICT to buy tons of Sugar & Flour for Ramazan

The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has finalised arrangements to purchase 3,000 tons of sugar and more than five hundred thousand bags of flour as part of the Ramazan Package for the residents of the capital.
A senior ICT official told Pakistan Today that to ensure foodstuffs were available at cheaper prices during the holy month of Ramazan, the ICT administration has completed arrangements to buy 3000 tons of sugar from the Trading Corporation of Pakistan and more than five hundred thousand bags of 20 kg flour bags from the Punjab government. The official said that these items would be available at Sasta Bazaars of the city. He said this year in Sasta Bazaars sugar would be sold at Rs 65 to 67 per kg while a 20 kg flour bag would be available Rs 425 to 440.
“Subsidized flour, sugar, ghee and other eatable items will be available in Sasta Bazaars of the city and at 35 Fair Price Shops,” he said. He said that Jamiat-al Quraish had announced that they would provide, beef and mutton at less than the market price. ICT Assistant Food Director Mohammad Afzal Bhagat confirmed that the ICT administration was going to sugar and flour for citizens of Islamabad. The assistant food director further said that ICT administration would establish four Sasta Bazaars and 35 fair price shops in the rural and urban areas of the federal capital during Ramazan. He said that this year four Sasta Bazaar would be established in Rawat, Bhara Kahu, G/7 and Pakistan Town. “The traders have assured the administration that they will fully cooperate with the administration and provide cheap foodstuffs,” he added.
