Compensation cheques were disturbed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour and Minister for Information and Public Relations Mian Iftikhar Hussain among the victims of Battagram bomb blast in a gathering held at Degree College, Battagram, on Tuesday.
They also announced grant worth Rs 3 million, a residential plot and single employment to families of each martyred police official.
Member Provincial Assembly Taj Muhammad Tarand, Inspector General of Police Fayyaz Ahmad Toru, officers of the local administration, notables of the area and heirs of the martyred and those injured in the blast attended the function.
Speaking on the occasion Bilour termed the war on terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a third world war and stated that since KP was being directly targeted, the government and the people of Pakistan would have to rise to face the challenge. He further stated that the incumbent government, security and the armed forces were putting in all the effort however certain forces were misleading the nation. Expressing his views at the gathering, Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain advised the political leaders to not to hold public rallies and meetings to save precious human lives, adding that since terrorists do not believe in humanity and religious norms, they could go to any extent to pursue their nefarious designs.
Paying tribute to the martyred police officials, Mian Iftikhar said that the government was aware of its duties with respect to the families of the martyrs and was proud of its security and armed forces.
