The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is starting a door-to-door campaign from Monday to register voters, while the drive will complete by August 16, said an ECP official. He said 0.1 million people will work for this campaign and will register around 36 million new voters. After the registration process, the list will be provided to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and the whole process will complete by December, he added. He said teams will circulate to the head of family and will later verify the provided information. The electoral rolls will be finalised with the help of data collected from 85.1 million people (91 percent of the total population) provided by NADRA and voters lists made in 2007, he added. Election Commission Secretary Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan has already been informed that 37 million votes have been deleted from the electoral list. Preparation of the new voters lists is in progress.
