Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) has received tremendous interest from local and international investors in response to its recent invitation for the import of LNG under third party access regime. The company has received 17 Expressions of Interest (Eols) from the leading LNG operators.
The 17 companies which submitted their Eols are Shell Gas, 4 Gas Asia, Granada Group, NatGas, BW Fleet Management AS, MTMKN Group, Global Energy Infrastructure, Pakistan Gasport, Kot Addu Power Company, PK Energy, Vitol Engro Corp, SAF International LNG Energy, Iran Liquefied Gas Company, Trading Enterprises and Xpro Energy. The objective behind inviting the EOls through an advertisement, was to ascertain the number of parties interested in setting up LNG terminals and their state of preparedness.
SSGC needs to augment its system to ensure entry and exit points to the LNG terminal operators as well as determine the intended volume they can transport through the Company’s system. SSGC and SNGPL are licensees of OGRA and operate under the latter’s Ordinance, which will provide for common carriage and open access facilities to interested parties. The EOls will be evaluated in a transparent and non-discriminatory manner and on the basis of terms and conditions laid down in the advertisement.
SSGC will be requesting the interested parties shortly to make presentations to establish their credibility, interest and capability for importing LNG on fast-track basis.
