It is an occasion worth rejoicing that Pakistan Today is launching its publication. I, on behalf of Awami National Party (ANP), congratulate its Editor-in-chief , eminent journalist Mr Arif Nizami and his team. In our opinion, the great challenge for any new media concern should be to give fair coverage, not only to every problem but also to every quarter of society. Every media concern should divide its ears and eyes equally among the different quarters and should maintain an ideal balance.
In Pakistan, the media has also played a very significant and crucial role for the cause of democracy. ANP staunchly believes that the media is the vanguard of democracy and, in recent years, the media has proved that it has got the ability to speak not only for the right to know of the people but also for other fundamental rights. Journalists in Pakistan have got a great and golden record of struggle and achievement in this regard. We hope that Pakistan Today will bear the same standards and will guide this country well in the captaincy of its worthy skipper.
