Would-be bomber, mastermind arrested

Law enforcing agencies Friday succeeded in foiling terrorist act bids, as they captured a would-be suicide bomber and the mastermind of suicide attacks from a seminary in the Speen Khak area of Nowshehra on Friday. The arrests were made when a joint team of law enforces, on a tip-off, raided the seminary. The mastermind has been identified as Mullah Baseer.
According to police, a suicide jacket, explosive material and some important documents were also recovered from the possession of the arrested persons who have been shifted to an unknown location for further interrogation.
Speen Khak and certain other parts of Nowshehra are considered as a hub of militants. In the recent past, a number of suicide and other terrorist acts were carried out in the district.
School bombed: Militants targeted another educational, Government High School Marghuz, in Swabi district.
Police say the building was partially damaged after two high-intensity improvised explosive devises (IEDs) exploded simultaneously.
No one has so far claimed responsibility for the first ever act of bombing a school in Swabi.
The Marghuz town is considered a stronghold of the Awami National Party (ANP).
