A large area of the PECHS Block 2, comprising commercial and residential localities along the main Tariq Road, has been without gas for more than five days now and the residents are under severe stress.
Talking to journalists, an educationist, Aafia Nagi said that despite registering many complaints registered, no action has been taken to restore the basic necessity. “My mother is not well and has to take prescribed food, but we have to rely on food from the market for the past five days, as we have to manage even a cup of tea from the hotel.”
Displeased residents complained about the failure of the government in every department.
“Where should we go with our children now? We can’t even make a cup of tea for our children who have to go to school in the morning.
It is not a problem of hours but five days. I fear, the authorities will not do anything as the weekend is approaching and the issue will be left for Monday now. We appeal to the media to convey our misery to the authorities concerned and help in resolving this situation,” said a government employee, Shahid Agha.
