JI protests against violence in Karachi

The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI)-Mirpurkhas staged a demonstration on Friday outside Madina Masjid to protest against the growing lawlessness in the province, particularly Karachi.
The protesters, led by caretaker JI-Mirpurkhas Amir Azizur Rehman, carried banners and placards and chanted slogans against the government.
Rehman and others speakers claimed that the growing lawlessness in the country, particularly Karachi, was a result of the inefficiency of the government. “The future of Karachi is dark as targeted killings, strikes and money extortion have become a common thing.”
Regarding the remarks of Zulfiqar Mirza, the leaders deplored that the protests by MQM claimed the lives of 17 innocent people while 48 vehicles were torched and traders suffered a loss of Rs 12 million. They said the enemies want to destroy the peace of Karachi to end its economical progress.
They demanded that the government launches a deweaponisation campaign in the country, especially Karachi, and take drastic measures against criminals to restore peace.
