Girls have outshined boys in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Part-1 too as they obtained a high percentage in both Science and Humanities Groups results announced by Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) on Friday.
The overall pass percentage of regular, private and ex-students remained 63.28 According to the news release issued here, out of 67295 students who appeared in the exams, 42095 passed. Of 56,037 regular candidates, 39395 passed with a pass percentage of 70.30. This year, 10484 private students appeared in exams, out of them only 2700 passed with a pass percentage of 25.75. In Science Group, out of 17367 girls who appeared in exams, 15036 passed with a pass percentage of 86.58 compared to boys’ pass percentage of 66.85 in this group. In Humanities Group, 7074 girls appeared, out of whom 4017 passed with a pass percentage of 56.79 compared to boys’ pass percentage of 24.55.
In Humanities Group, 1841 boys appeared in exams, out of them only 452 could pass with a pass percentage of 24.55. According to a press release, 21 cases of unfair means were reported this year and all the cases have been decided after adopting a judicious procedure. The press release further stated, “Those students who are not satisfied with their result may avail the facility of canceling the result in one or two or all papers of SSC Part-1 and re-appear in these along with the SSC P-II in annual examination o f2012.” The application for re-checking papers will be entertained till August 15.
