Federal Minister and senior PML-Q leader Pervaiz Elahi has said that actions of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leaders do not match its claims, as 5000 yellow cabs for the unemployed were announced by demolishing the vegetable market in the provincial capital.
Talking to leaders of the Anjuman Tajran, Vegetable and Fruit Market, at his residence here on Friday, he said the Punjab government wanted to use the yellow cab scheme for political mileage. Furthermore, he said the Punjab government had removed condition of BA for this scheme in the wake of harsh crticism from opposers of the scheme.
Pervaiz accused the Sharif Brothers of depriving people jobs and the vegetable market incident was its worst example. He said the PML-Q government always paid more money than market value to land owners for taking up a public interest project, adding that the Lahore-Kasur Ring Road project was an example in which the PML-Q without razing down a single shop had initiated the plan.
He assured full support to the visiting delegation of traders and assured them that the PML-Q will take up the matter at every available forum. Moreover, trader leaders claimed that shops of the vegetable market were bulldozed to benefit Hamza Shahbaz’s multi-national company.
