The brother of Karzai has been killed by his own bodyguard in Afghanistan. A few months ago we witnessed the guard of Salmaan Taseer killing him as well. This is now becoming a common practice that high officials cannot trust their security personnel.
It is imperative that the best police officials should be deployed for the security of influential personnel rather than private security firms. It is vital that the police officers being deployed for protection must be trained and sensitised.
The extremist mindset must be eradicated from the forces in general as that is the only long-term solution to this problem. There are some steps that must be taken necessarily to combat this internal menace and Pakistan must learn from mistakes taking place around the world.
