Accusing certain journalists of irritating Dr Zulfiqar Mirza, the Awami National Party (ANP)-Sindh on Thursday made it clear that the ANP or Pakhtuns have nothing to do with the personal views of Dr Zulfiqar Mirza and asked the media to play a responsible role in the society.
In a statement issued from Bacha Khan Markaz, ANP Spokesman Qadir Khan said that the dinner was arranged for coalition partners in Sindh government by ANP-Sindh’s Shahi Syed to celebrate the successful implementation of commissionerate system in the province.
On the occasion, however, certain journalists unnecessary insisted upon Mirza to say something and irritated him into saying something, which was totally against the event’s atmosphere.
“The ANP accepts the Urdu-speaking people’s importance in the city and Wali Khan had buried all conspiracies of linguistic riots in the city.”
The ANP appeals to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement that other linguistic groups should not be targeted in the name of reaction as protest is the right of everyone but innocent people should not killed in the name of protest.
