PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Wednesday held a one-on-one meeting with Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, deciding to induct two PML-Q ministers and 2 advisers in the Sindh cabinet. A delegation of 20 PML-Q members led by Shujaat met Qaim at the Sindh Chief Minister’s House.
Sources closed to Shujaat said he proposed Shehryar Maher and Muhammad Ali Malkani as ministers, while Aijaz Shah Sherazi and Haleem Adil Shaikh were nominated as advisers to the Sindh CM. Shah agreed with the proposition. A handout from the Sindh CM’s House said Shah agreed that the PML-Q would be given part in the Sindh cabinet. On the occasion, Shujaat said the alliance between his party and PPP was made after 40 years.
“Both parties will work for development and peace in Sindh. My party will extend support to the PPP in every difficult time and for every positive move,” he said. “The meeting with the MQM was positive,” he said, adding that he had told the MQM that Sindh was not restricted for Sindhis and Urdu speaking people only. Shujaat hoped that the PPP and PML-Q would contest the next elections jointly.
