Noor Shah Bukhari Shrine set ablaze

The shrine of Hazrat Noor Shah Bukhari, situated near the Mirpurkhas Municipal Complex, was set ablaze by unidentified attackers on late Tuesday night, damaging some parts of the building while cloth wreaths laid on the tomb were completely gutted.
Panic spread in city as hundreds of citizens, including Sunni Tehreek workers and office bearers, reached the spot and observed a demonstration against the district administration for not providing adequate security at the shrines in the Sindh province.
The protesters blocked the main road in front of the municipal complex and also burnt old tyres while chanting slogans against the failure of the district administration and police in maintaining the law and order situation.
The town police have registered a case against unidentified suspect under sections 436 and 295 on the complaint of Muhammad Hakim Sandli, a devotee at the Hazrat Noor Shah Bukhari shrine. Police personnel were deployed at the shrine after the incident.
It may be recalled that the shrine has been attacked in the past also.
