Hurriyet leaders including APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syed Ali Gilani, Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi, Bilal Ghani Lone, Shabbir Ahmad Shah and Nayeem Ahmed Khan have been house arrested by authorities of the Indian-occupied Kashmir in a bid to prevent them from leading the two marches in Srinagar, KMS reported on Wednesday. Leaders had called for a march towards the Martyrs Graveyard at Naqashband Sahib to remember victims of July 13, 1931. APHC leader and acting Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League Chairman Mukhtar Ahmad Waza was arrested and lodged in Saddar Police Station, Islamabad. The APHC spokesman said the leaders were arrested to foil the peaceful rally on Wednesday. “Mirwaiz was house arrested, while several other leaders were confined to their houses yesterday. Police has been deployed at the residence of leaders,” the spokesman maintained.
